POYi Projector Problems

MU photojournalism senior Charles Luedeke covered the Heartland Chorus from the time they left on a bus from Kansas City to when they appeared in the Rotunda of the State Capital in Jefferson City to the Missouri Theatre evening performance in Columbia. Then he got on the bus to return to Kansas City with the men's chorus.

Sunday mornings usually finds me, my wife, Chris, and Roger Pilkenton at Loren Reid's house. He's 104 years old and, yes, still lives at home. Roger administers communion & brief sermon. Loren is always glad to see Roger because he is "rife with sin". After the "service" Chris and I take Loren out to lunch - Steak n' Shake, IHOP, Culver's. Somewhere to get a sandwich and where he can see people.

A new semester

It begins - a new semester and good intentions of posting pictures, comments and all that good stuff.

Burns Night 2010 - reading poetry by Robert Burns (the famous Scottish poet) and making some up, in the spirit of Burns. A traditional group portrait....

Looking for a part

Desperately seeking a part for the 1938 Magic Chef gas stove in our kitchen - a new (or refurbished knob so that we're able to use the fourth burner on the stove. Hard to be a great cook with only three burners!

both these "still" images are made from digital video. Low light (here, of the performance by Semaphore, the dance group Annie belongs to at Carleton College) is really a determining factor about the quality of the image. Play the image back on a computer monitor you like and which gives a healthy size - then take a shift+apple+3 picture of the screen and it becomes a png file - then you can open in Photoshop and work on it.

Jessie King in September 2006. She is a grad student in the MA program here at Missouri and she has often looked after our pets if our family was out of town. When we were in Mexico last summer she found that one of the mice had bitten the head off a cage mate. It was very upsetting.
